Teachers Aide

St. John the Baptist Catholic School in Johnsburg is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic part-time classroom aide to join our preschool team. Essential Job Functions:

• Support the Teacher in providing developmentally appropriate early childhood education experiences across various subjects, including religion, art, music, literacy, science, and mathematics.
• Assist in supervising activities that promote the health, emotional, social, intellectual, and physical development of each child, aligning with Diocesan goals and objectives.
• Maintain a neat, safe, and organized classroom environment and assist in the upkeep of all educational equipment and materials.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Must be a practicing Catholic with knowledge of Catholic prayers, holidays, and teachings.
• Ability to organize and coordinate work effectively with the teacher.
• Strong communication skills to interact effectively with students and staff.
• Commitment to self-evaluation and professional growth.
• Professionalism in attire, communication, and demeanor.

Qualifications:

• Must complete the Safe Environment requirements of the Rockford Diocese Virtus program.

Job Summary:

• Hours: 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
  • Additional hours for aftercare can also be offered from 3:00 pm to 5:30 pm on Tuesdays through Thursdays.
• Position: Part-time, unbenefitted

Qualifications:

High school diploma and the ability to work with children.

Must complete the Safe Environment requirements of the Rockford Diocese Virtus program.

Must be able to pass a fingerprint and background check.

Must be 21+ years of age
