Teacher's Assistant

Job Responsibilities

• Assist lead teacher with presenting lessons.

• Create and distribute educational content.

• Assist teacher in keeping all the students engaged in lessons and activities.

• Maintain a tidy and orderly classroom.

• Make necessary modifications to daily activities based on student’s needs.

• Assist students with basic self- care skills including, but not limited to, feeding, toileting, and hygiene.

• Assist students with a variety of physical needs. This may include handling equipment such as wheelchairs and braces.

• Substitute teacher when teacher is absent.

• Attend staff meetings and trainings.

• Participate in professional development courses.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Skills

• A passion for children with special needs.

• 2 years of experience in the Special Education field (preferred)

• The ability to interact and communicate effectively with children with special needs.

• The ability to work as a team member.

• Excellent communicability and interpersonal skills.

• Well-organized and strong time management skills.

• Creative and energetic

Education

• High school diploma of GED.

• 40 DCF Course.

Schedule

• Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri 8:00 am – 3:30 pm

• Wed 8:00 am – 2:30 pm

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $13.00 - $15.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift


• Day shift


• Monday to Friday


• No nights


• No weekends

Education:

• High school or equivalent (Required)

Experience:

• Childcare: 1 year (Preferred)
