Teaching Artist/Barnstormer

 Position:  Part-Time Barnstormer/Teaching Artist
FLSA Status: Non-exempt
Reports To: Education & Programming Manger
Location: Louisville Slugger Museum & Factory

Position Summary:
Barnstormer/Teaching Artist will engage visitors by providing entertaining and informative presentations and programming. This position will support museum programming and education efforts to both museum visitors and school groups. The ideal candidate will have education or theater experience with strong communication skills and is comfortable engaging with adults and students alike.  An interest and passion for baseball and history is preferred.  This is a part-time position and will require weekend shifts.

Essential Functions: 

• Host daily programs, following the daily lineup of programs.
• Present lesson plans to school groups to meet educational curriculum objectives.
• Design and develop educational programs with the guidance of Education & Programming Manager.
• Maintain and update programming calendar when needed. 
• Act as go-to person guide for all museum programs.
• Potentially travel to MLB parks (or other events) to work the Mobile Museum – travel expenses would be covered.
• Assist with Tour Team responsibilities when needed. This includes, but is not limited to, factory tours, bat vault presentation, hand turning, burn branding, and hold a piece of history experiences. 
• Perform other job-related duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

Requirements: 

· Must be a polished, dynamic public speaker

· Education or theater experience preferred

· Must have a professional appearance

· Knowledge of and passion for baseball and history preferred
