Tennis Shop Associate - Part-Time (Summer 2025)

POSITION SUMMARY:  
The Tennis Shop Associate is the primary point of contact to assist in servicing the needs of the membership and their guests with regards to tennis matters in the tennis shop.  Duties associated with this position include email, phone and in person communications, daily management of the court reservation process, and assistance with tennis clinic or event set up. The Tennis Shop Associate will also seek opportunities to create lifetime memories by anticipating needs, exceeding expectations, and building relationships with the Martis Camp membership.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:  

• Provide efficient and friendly customer service throughout the tennis shop, accurately ringing up charges and properly checking-in all tennis players prior to play.
• Respond to inquiries, lessons and court reservations for Members and guests both in person and on the phone.
• Converse with Members and guests in a friendly manner.
• Focus attention on Members and guests needs and remain calm, professional, and courteous always, even when under pressure.
• Maintain tennis shop and surrounding area, ensuring it is always organized and clean.
• Promote the game of tennis and promote the Club while maintaining a high level of professionalism and service.
• Perform opening & closing business functions following guidelines and procedures established by the Club.
• Maintain good conduct and safe working habits while in all areas and assure others are acting safely.
• Comply with Martis Camp standards & regulations to encourage safe and efficient Club operations.
• Perform any other duties as needed to improve safety and assist fellow Ambassadors in fulfilling Martis Camp’s Mission, Vision, and Core Values.

• Knowledge of Tennis operations is preferred.
• Experience working with merchandise in a retail operation is preferred.
• Experience with inventory management software and point-of-sale software is preferred.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
• Excellent customer service skills.

• Ability to twist, bend, and kneel to organize retail
