As a Test Technician at Rocket EMS, you will be responsible for executing in-circuit, functional, and system-level testing of printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs) to verify compliance with customer specifications and internal quality standards. This role supports high-reliability electronics programs and requires strong technical aptitude, attention to detail, and close collaboration with engineering and production teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Review and interpret travelers, MPIs, ECOs, test procedures, and customer requirements prior to testing.
Set up, operate, and troubleshoot ICT, functional test fixtures, boundary scan systems, and other automated or manual test equipment.
Perform electrical and functional verification of PCB assemblies in accordance with established test procedures.
Accurately document test results, record failures, and maintain complete test records in accordance with quality requirements.
Identify, classify, and isolate test failures; escalate issues to Test Engineers or Debug Technicians as needed.
Verify test equipment readiness, calibration status, and proper configuration prior to use.
Adhere to ESD, MSD, safety, and handling requirements at all times.
Provide clear daily pass-downs to leads, supervisors, and engineering teams.
Support NPI, prototype, and engineering builds by executing test programs and providing feedback on test coverage and issues.
Participate in continuous improvement activities focused on yield, throughput, repeatability, and test effectiveness.
High school diploma or equivalent (required).
Technical training or coursework in electronics or a related field (preferred).
1–3 years of experience in electronics manufacturing, test, or related technical roles.
Hands-on experience with ICT, functional test, or system-level testing preferred.
Working knowledge of electronic components, schematics, and PCB assemblies.
Ability to read and follow detailed test procedures, travelers, and work instructions.
Proficient with basic test equipment such as multimeters and oscilloscopes.
Comfortable using computers for data entry, test logging, and reporting (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with technicians and engineers.
High attention to detail with a strong commitment to quality and process adherence.
