Transportation Specialist

Salary will be $17.25 per hour

Part-time position working up to 20 hours per week

Easterseals Florida is seeking a dynamic, dedicated and collaborative individual to serve as the organization's Transportation Specialist.  The Transportation Specialist is responsible for managing all aspects of Florida Department of Transportation compliance and other related contracts and grants and compliance in support of our statewide transportation department. Periodic travel to other Easterseals Florida locations will be required.

A snapshot of what you’ll do:

• Oversee, manage and complete all Florida Department of Transportation and other transportation related grants, contracts and compliance which includes: the grant writing process for all transportation areas as served, the acquisition of vehicles and operating funds, and all terms of Department of Transportation (DOT) grant contracts
• Seek additional transportation related revenue to supplement funding
• Evaluate transportation expenses to ensure efficiency, including evaluating vendors to ensure competitive pricing
• Ensures all vehicle registration filings, tags and insurance are in good stance and updated
• Assist statewide locations with tracking and scheduling vehicle service, inspections and repairs (and communicate with repair shops)
• Attend all required statewide transportation trainings and workshops, whether in-person or virtual 
• Update and maintain plans (e.g., Transportation Operation Plan, and Title VI)
• Conduct self-audits and lead all transportation review and audits

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree and one-year related experience; or 
• Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school and two years related experience; or 
• Equivalent combination of education and experience
• Grant writing experience preferred
• Significant attention to detail, superior organizational and writing skills and the ability to work quickly and efficiently
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and database software
• Detail-oriented self-starter who can efficiently handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
• Ability to meet our approved driver qualifications in order to drive your personal vehicle, as required, to drive to meetings and for other business-related needs (minimum age of 21 and good driving history)
