Trip Chaperone - Part Time

Salary Range:    $15.00-$16.00

JOB SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Adult Center Supervisor the Trip Chaperone is responsible for the supervision of trips for various ages and interest groups.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Escort day trips as scheduled.


• Maintain appropriate attendance records and other report forms in accordance with District policy.


• Assist Adult Center Coordinator in evaluating individual trips through participant verbal and written feedback.


• Establish and maintain good working relationships with participants and co-workers, promoting customer service policies.


• Follows Park District safety rules, exercises safe work practices and follows all emergency procedures.


• Willing to drive a 14 passenger bus for local trips

SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS

• Subject to both inside and outside environmental conditions.


• Physical agility to maintain mobility from site to site.


• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.


• Subject to modified/flexible work schedule.


• Able to function under occasional loud and stressful conditions.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Flexibility, communication skills and patience.


• Displays desire and interest in working with adult population


• Able to obtain a Certification in CPR/AED and First Aid within 90 days


• Good knowledge of pertinent safety precautions.


• Must demonstrate good safety awareness and judgment.


• Ability to maintain positive and effective working relationships with other employees.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

High School Diploma or equivalent.
