Position: Upward Operations Specialist

Reports to: Upward Ministry Coordinator

Status: Part-Time (10 hours/week)

Classification: Non-Exempt

Description Summary
The Upward Ministry is a valuable and integral part of the overall Next Gen Ministry.  Upward Sports focuses on strengthening relationships, enabling kids and families to learn the basics of each sport offered at PV and grow deeper in their relationship with Jesus Christ. The mission of reaching the entire family is a primary focus.

The Upward Operations Coordinator is responsible for the successful tracking, scheduling and implementing of the Upward registration process as well as supporting other administrative tasks throughout each season. It is imperative that the Coordinator maintain a vibrant relationship with Christ and that focus on Him is central in the ministry.  It is also important that the Coordinator embrace and create an atmosphere of equipping ministry partners to serve the kingdom.  The goal and desire is that each person the Coordinator comes in contact with would know the love of Jesus Christ by the words and actions of the Coordinator and would desire to serve Him more.    


Job Responsibilities



  1. Responsible for all administrative aspects of the Upward Ministry to ensure the success and maximum effectiveness of the ministry.

    • Manage and maintain Upward’s league manager, including data entry, team drafts, payment processing, and other administrative duties.

    • Develop and maintain timelines for the league to function.

    • Drafts documents, including league registrations, informational handouts, team rosters, team schedules for practices and game days, welcome letters, etc.

    • Manage and maintain ministry supplies.

    • Maintain budget awareness and accuracy throughout each season.

    • Submit purchase orders and receipts.

    • Schedule and coordinate of picture day for each season.

    • Assist with end of season gifts for ministry partners and players each season.

    • Assist with end of season celebration days to ensure all food and drinks are prepped and ready for the day.  Assist with serving the ministry as a whole on these days as it’s a time for kids, families and ministry partners to be appreciated.

    • Assist with volunteer appreciation efforts to ensure that volunteers in each season feel valued and appreciated.





  2. Ensure all Equipment/Fields/Courts are maintained with the support of the Upward Ministry Director:

    • Partners with PV Facilities Team to ensure quality control, maintenance, and improvement of the fields and courts during each Upward season.

    • Inventories equipment and equipment storage areas regularly to ensure equipment is in good condition and stored appropriately.

    • Ensures equipment and fields/courts are set up and ready for practices and games.





  3. Lead in a way that all decisions and goals are what is best for the people and ministries of PV.



  4. Always continue to seek out spiritual growth for self, finding new resources and ways to grow and learn.

Education / Experience

  • High School diploma or equivalent

  • Minimum of 2 years experience serving in ministry, preferably in data entry/data management




Compensation: $19.00 per hour
