Schedule:  Monday - Friday 7:00 am -11:00 am (20 hours per week)

About the Position:   This role will be responsible for breaking down wood pallets, performing paint touch-ups, and handling other assigned labor tasks. The porter will also use a golf cart to navigate the property and ensure everything stays in top condition. 

Day Porter General function:

• Pick up trash as needed and empty trash receptacles.
• Perform cleaning tasks, such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, cleaning cobwebs, wiping down surfaces, restroom cleaning, etc.
• Clean exterior surfaces of windows, windowsills, and doors.
• Remove and/or clean up any debris or soil such as stickers, chewing gum, coffee spills, graffiti, etc.
• Continuously walk the property to inspect all public areas for cleanliness.
• Notify the supervisor in case there is a need for repairs.
• Required  to always wear the appropriate safety equipment for the task, which includes gloves, goggles, safety vest, and any other safety equipment that the task requires.

Requirements

 Utility Porter Qualifications:

• Janitorial experience preferred.
• Outstanding communication skills.
• Punctual and dependable.
• Reliable transportation.
• Ability to work independently.
• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Meet the physical requirements: constantly walking, climbing stairs, pushing, pulling, reaching over the shoulder, lifting, and carrying.
• Constant weight – 1-35 lbs. Occasional weight – 36-50 lbs.

 The Ideal Day Porter:

• Detail-oriented.
• Works well with hand tools and, use of an electric saw.
• Proficient in performing utility work such as paint touch-ups, changing light fixtures, and breaking down pallets.
• Ability to identify and manage priorities.
• Ability to complete the physical requirements of the job.
• Day porter/janitor/custodian experience preferred.
