Valet (Pacific Regent - La Jolla CA )

Summary:

The Valet facilitates and maintains the flow of traffic at the front of the building.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

To perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. • Greet all residents and guests in a courteous manner by opening car and lobby doors upon their arrival or departure
• Collect and properly secure resident and guest vehicle keys according to procedure; issue and collect valet tickets
• Safely park and retrieve resident and guest vehicles into and out of the garage
• Assist residents and guests by transporting personal items (under 50 lbs.) to and from the units
• Document violations to the rules and regulations as they pertain to the front of the building
• Monitor the front of the building for safety hazards
• Provide backup to the Front Desk when needed
• Assist with fire, earthquake, and/or tornado emergencies
• Conduct 911 and mortuary protocols
• Deliver groceries, pharmaceuticals and packages
• Assist with event break-downs
• Jumpstart resident vehicles
• All other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

• Must be 18 years or older
• Must possess a clean driving record and a current, valid drivers’ license
• Ability to safely operate motor vehicles with automatic and manual transmission
• Ability to safely operate all motor vehicles in reverse
• Able to work in various types of environments (indoor, outdoor, parking garage)
• Good verbal communication skills
• Good customer service skills
• Ability to operate communication equipment such as radios and walkie talkies

Minimum Education:

High School Diploma or Equivalent required.

Language Skills:

The individual must have strong written communication skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with employees and clients at all levels of the organization, both verbally and in writing.

Availability:

Regular business hours and overtime as needed.

Work Environment:

The valet works in a well-lighted, clean environment. S/he constantly interacts with other people, and may have to handle several responsibilities at once. The Association maintains a smoke-free environment throughout the property.
