Assistants must possess good critical thinking and problem solving skills, compassion, a positive attitude, excellent communication skills and teamwork skills.
Our Clinic is open Saturdays only at the time, may open up to Sunday in the near future
Responsibilities Included But Not Limited To.....
- Play an active role in the BoosterPet medical team to provide quality medical care, model BoosterPet’s core values
- Be tech savvy
- Support BoosterPet virtual care services
- Complete detailed medical records with through medical history. Ensure medical records are accurate within the practice management system
- Educate animal owners
- Complete complete vitals on behalf of our DVMs/veterinary technicians
- Liaising with veterinarians and veterinary technicians to ensure continuity of patient care
- Follow all safety protocols to ensure safety of pets, clients, and team members
- Administering medications and vaccines prescribed by a veterinarian
- Maintain medication clerk licensure
- Obtains and verifies medications
- performing phlebotomy duties, and providing intramuscular (IM), intravenous (IV) and subcutaneous (SQ) injections
- Restrain pets in a manner that allows necessary work to be performed, minimizes stress to pets, and ensures the safety of pets and people
- Assist at front desk/kiosk and greet clients/patients upon entry
- Answer phones and make appointments as needed
- Administering first aid for emergencies
- Help technicians induce/monitor and recover anesthetic patients
- Performing laboratory work and diagnostic imaging
- Maintains safe, secure, healthy, and humane environment by verifying shelf life of medications, maintaining equipment and complying with legal regulations
- Train new employees on standards of operations
- Other duties as assigned by managers
Requirements
Experience required.
Medication Clerk license preferred, will help you obtain if not currently licensed
