Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate Veterinarian Technician to join the team at our successful clinic. Veterinary Technician responsibilities include assisting the Veterinarian with surgeries and procedures, coordinating animal care, and monitoring animal recovery. You will work closely with the entire clinic staff to ensure the health and well-being of all of our pet patients. If you are passionate about providing exceptional animal care, we’d like to meet you.

Weekends/Holidays/Nightshift schedules are a must

Needs to be quick and efficient

Needs to be able to work quickly under pressure and be able to handle high stress environments

Looking for a fun and positive individual to join our team

Responsibilities

Triage pets as they arrive at the clinic

Interview pet owners to obtain a patient history

Take vital signs and acquire blood samples

Assist with surgeries and monitor animals after surgery

Administer medications and provide at-home dosage instructions for clients

Keep accurate patient records

Schedule:
- 10 hour shift
- 12 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Holidays
- Night shift
- Weekend

Qualifications

Previous experience as a Veterinary Technician or in a similar role

Knowledge of animal care, behavior, handling, and animal husbandry

Excellent communication skills

Ability to multi-task and remain organized in a busy environment

Patience and a love for animals

Documentation skills

Analyzing information

Clinical skills

Use of medical technologies

Attention to detail

Patience

Technical understanding

Positive attitude

Ability to work in fast pace/high stress environment

Be able to work quickly and efficiently

To be able to work well as a team as well as working efficiently on their own

Compensation: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour

The St Augustine Regional Veterinary Emergency Center (SARVEC) was established in 2010 by a group of nineteen local veterinarians from St John’s, Putnam, and Flagler counties. The goal is to provide state of the art emergency medicine for local communities with emphasis on continuity of care between our emergency department and your family veterinarian or specialty referral center. We are dedicated providers of compassionate care for sick or injured pets, and an empathetic support system for their families.
