Job Description - Water Quality Specialist

SPIN Global is a Maryland-based public benefit corporation that exists to disrupt disasters from neighborhoods to nations. We are seeking qualified applicants to build a deployment-ready cadre, prepared to support response operations as opportunities arise. Applicants must possess a FEMA Entry on Duty (EOD).

‬‬‬Responsibilities

  • Provide expertise in water quality assessment, analysis, and management to support disaster resilience efforts.
  • Develop and implement strategies to monitor and improve water quality in disaster-affected areas.
  • Conduct data collection, analysis, and interpretation to identify water quality trends and challenges.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate water quality solutions into broader project goals.
  • Prepare and present technical reports, summaries, and recommendations for clients and stakeholders.
  • Stay current on relevant water quality standards, best practices, and emerging technologies.

Requirements

  • Education & Experience:
    • Bachelor's Degree with 5 years of experience in a related field and professional registration, or
    • Bachelor's Degree with 10 years of experience in a related field.
  • Certification:
    • Water Quality Association (WQA) Certification is required.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Familiarity with water quality standards, technologies, and data analysis tools.
  • FEMA Training Preferred:
    • Completion of the following FEMA Independent Study Courses is preferred:
    • IS-1000: Public Assistance Program and Eligibility
    • IS-1001: The Public Assistance Delivery Model Orientation
    • IS-1002: FEMA Grants Portal - Transparency at Every Step
    • IS-253.a: Overview of FEMA's Environmental and Historic Preservation Review.
  • Work onsite in North Carolina.
  • EOD Required.
