Job Description - Water Well Technician - One Time Job

Position Summary:
The Water Well Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, and inspection of water wells and related systems. This role involves working with pumps, pipes, electrical controls, and drilling equipment to ensure safe and efficient water delivery for residential, agricultural, commercial, or municipal use.

Key Responsibilities:

Install, service, and repair water well systems, including pumps, pressure tanks, and piping.

Conduct inspections and performance tests on water wells to ensure proper function and water quality.

Diagnose and troubleshoot issues related to water flow, pump failure, or pressure inconsistencies.

Assist with the drilling and development of new wells, following state and local regulations.

Maintain accurate records of well depth, equipment used, maintenance performed, and test results.

Operate and maintain various types of equipment, including drilling rigs, pump hoists, and electrical testing devices.

Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations during all work activities.

Collaborate with contractors, engineers, or property owners to plan well installations and upgrades.

Perform disinfection and well rehabilitation procedures as needed.

Respond to emergency service calls in a timely and professional manner.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in water systems, plumbing, or a related field preferred.

Previous experience in well drilling or pump system maintenance is strongly preferred.

Working knowledge of submersible and jet pumps, pressure systems, and basic electrical systems.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, well logs, and technical manuals.

Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Physical stamina and ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.

Valid driver’s license; CDL may be required depending on equipment operated.

Preferred Certifications (may vary by state):

Water Well Driller or Pump Installer License

OSHA or HAZWOPER Safety Certification

CPR/First Aid Certification

Please note that this is a temporary, one-time position designated specifically for this project

Compensation: $26.00 per hour
