The Watercraft Inspector position serves to inform and educate the public to the threats of ecologically harmful aquatic invasive species to Minnesotaâs waters. Inspectors will also undergo training of MN DNR protocols and perform thorough inspections on all incoming or outgoing watercraft at multiple lakes throughout Kanabec County. Inspectors will work at public water access sites educating the public by providing information to watercraft users and conducting a brief survey while inspecting watercraft for invasive species. Other duties include assisting with postings and educational materials at access sites, invasive species removal, and other natural resource projects.
Part Time Positions Only: Mid-May through September
Locations:
Knife Lake (NE) Public access: 6 hour shifts, 8am-2pm (Sat/Sun & Holidays)
Knife Lake (S) Access:4 hour shifts 12:00pm - 4 pm(Sat/Sun & Holidays)
Ann Lake Water Access Site: 4 hour shift 8am-12pm (Sat/Sun & Holidays)
Fish Lake (S) Access Site:4 hour shift 12pm-4pm (Sat/Sun & Holidays)
Fish Lake (N) Access Site 4 hour shift 8am-12pm (Sat/Sun & Holidays)
Lewis, Quamba, Eleven and Pomroy (limited shifts)
Compensation: $15.50-$19.50 Hourly Base (DOQ) + Monthly Performance Bonus
