Waterjet- Fabrication Operator- 1st Shift

The Fabrication Machine Operator for the Waterjet at LayerZero Power Systems, Inc.  will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of the waterjet machine while ensuring safety in the workplace. This position oversees cutting equipment to ensure the efficient and accurate production of parts to meet scheduled deadlines. 

• Responsible for all aspects of cutting material on water jet 
• Production 
• Machine operation  
• Load/unload machine 
• Work with production engineering to pull programs for production 
• Separate, label/catalog completed parts 
• Maintenance 
• Daily start-up & shut-down procedure 
• Daily end-of-day clean-up of machine 
• Regular maintenance of nozzles, hoses 
• Manage abrasive/garnet inventory 
• Floor cleaning in surrounding area 
• Quality inspecting of parts and materials. 
• Monitor the water jet cutting process to ensure proper functioning  
• Adhere to safety protocols and maintain clean and organized work area 

Shift: 6:00am-2:30pm - Monday- Friday

   Required: 

• 5+ Experience in operation of waterjet machine preferred 
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings/prints 
• Ability to use measuring instruments such as calipers 
• Ability to understand machine programs 
• Ability to modify machine programs 
• Ability to use PC for basic editing; logging 

   Preferred: 

• Experience with automation 
• Experience with CNC or water jet machines 

Physical Requirements:  

• Ability to lift and carry up to 60 pounds 
• Ability to stand for an extended period of time
