Wave Aquatics Redmond Pool Deck Manager

Job Title: Deck Manager

Location: Redmond Pool and/or Juanita Aquatic Center

Employment Type: Part-time, non-exempt

Reports to: Wave Swim School Director

Supervises: Swim Instructors

Job Summary:

A Deck Manager's main purpose is to ensure students receive high quality swim lessons. They support the swim instructors during swim lessons, answer guest service questions regarding swim lessons, and ensure pool rules and deck rules are enforced and followed. 

Key Responsibilities:

Wave Swim School Responsibilities: 

• Thorough knowledge and understanding of Wave Swim School curriculum. (training provided).


• Supervise, evaluate, and provide feedback to swim instructors.


• Supervise the deck to ensure smooth running operations. 


• Be prepared to substitute swim instructor shifts when no coverage is present.


• Be prepared to substitute lifeguard shifts when no coverage is present.


• Provide excellent guest service to swim school families in person and via phone calls.


• Update customer accounts, including personal information, billing information, and enrollments. 


• Determine whether or not a student has mastered all the required skills in their level and is ready to advance to the next class.


• Additional responsibilities may be assigned by the supervisor.

Facility Maintenance Responsibilities:

• Perform various maintenance duties to ensure a clean and safe facility.


• Provide emergency care and treatment as required and/or until the arrival of emergency medical services.


• Monitor pool water chemistry through water testing; ensure that all required chemical checks are taking place and being recorded.


• Advise staff of additional cleaning tasks as needed, based on facility conditions.


• Maintain and abide by all King County Health Code standards.


• Complete required reports and records including incident, accident, theft, vandalism and any other incidents of concern.

Qualifications:

• Education: High School Diploma (in progress accepted)


• Current American Red Cross Lifeguard/First Aid/CPR certification


• Teaching swim lessons for a minimum of 2 years.

Compensation: $20.25-$22/hour

Schedule/Work Hours: Monday-Friday 3:30pm-10pm; Saturday and Sunday 7:30am-2pm
