Welders Assistant

Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and reliable Welder's Shop Assistant to support our team of skilled welders and fabricators. This mid-level position requires prior hands-on experience in a shop environment, preferably involving metalwork or welding support. The ideal candidate will be eager to learn, detail-oriented, and capable of assisting with a variety of tasks to ensure the smooth and safe operation of our welding and fabrication shop.

Job Description:
As a Welder's Shop Assistant at TTK Enterprises, LLC, you will work alongside experienced welders to support the fabrication, assembly, and repair of metal components. Your responsibilities will include prepping materials, maintaining tools and equipment, organizing workspaces, and performing basic tasks related to metalwork and welding. This position is ideal for individuals looking to grow their skills in welding and fabrication in a hands-on, team-oriented environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist welders with the setup and preparation of materials, including cutting, grinding, and measuring metal.

• Help position and hold materials or tools during welding operations.

• Operate basic shop equipment such as grinders, saws, drills, and forklifts (if certified).

• Clean and maintain welding equipment, tools, and shop areas.

• Organize and restock welding consumables, tools, and supplies.

• Follow detailed instructions and blueprints under the direction of senior welders.

• Ensure all work is performed safely and in accordance with company policies and OSHA standards.

• Assist in transporting raw materials, finished products, and components throughout the shop.

• Support quality control by checking measurements and ensuring accurate assembly as directed.

• Perform other general labor or support duties as required.

Required Skills:

• Basic knowledge of metalworking tools and safety procedures.

• Familiarity with hand tools and power tools used in welding and fabrication.

• Willingness to learn and follow instructions closely.

• Strong work ethic and attention to detail.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Basic math and measurement skills.

Preferred Skills:

• Previous experience in a welding, fabrication, or metal shop environment.

• Exposure to MIG, TIG, or stick welding processes.

• Ability to read and interpret basic technical drawings or shop blueprints.

• Forklift operation experience or certification.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Mechanical or fabrication aptitude or interest in welding trades.

• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

• Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks regularly.

• Previous shop, labor, or welding-related experience is a plus.
