Wellness Center Assistant

Hours: This position receives between 16-20 hours per week. Evenings and some Saturdays are required.

Position Summary: Provides part-time assistance to the Wellness staff at Northeastern Tribal Health System

Position responsibilities:

• Respond to specific exercise and fitness related questions and direct clients to additional sources of information.
• Explain and demonstrate the proper use of equipment.
• Assure compliance with Wellness Center rules.
• Assist with member orientation.
• Take and record participants blood pressure and pulse pre and post exercise sessions.
• Clean exercise equipment and surrounding area daily or more often if needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Essential skills and experience:

• Working independently.
• Broad background in the humanities, developmental theory, communicative skills, and the biological, psychological and social sciences.
• Understand and experience in applying learning theories for all age groups.
• Knowledge of cultural aspects within the Oklahoma Area and the ability to appreciate cultural differences.

Valued but not required skills and experience:

• Associates Degree

Work Environment: The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
