Job Title: Store & Yard Associate

Position Overview:

The Store & Yard Associate plays a key role in providing excellent customer service both inside the store and in the yard. This position is responsible for operating the cash register, assisting customers with purchases, answering questions, and ensuring that materials are safely and efficiently loaded for customers. The role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities

Greet customers promptly and professionally, providing friendly and knowledgeable service.

Operate the cash register accurately, including processing sales, returns, and handling cash/credit transactions.

Assist customers in locating products, answering product-related questions, and making recommendations.

Safely load customer purchases into vehicles, ensuring proper handling of materials.

Maintain cleanliness and organization of both the store and yard areas.

Stock shelves, rotate inventory, and assist with receiving and unloading deliveries as needed.

Follow company safety procedures and ensure compliance with all policies.

Support other team members with daily tasks to ensure smooth store and yard operations.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Previous retail, customer service, or material handling experience is a plus.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in both indoor and outdoor environments.

Basic math and computer skills for handling transactions and inventory.

A positive attitude with a willingness to learn and adapt.

Working Conditions

Combination of indoor retail store environment and outdoor yard work.

Frequent standing, lifting, bending, and exposure to varying weather conditions.

Schedule may include weekends and holidays, depending on business needs.
