Youth Programs Coordinator - Seattle
General Summary
The Youth Program Coordinator (YPC) serves as a department expert for Edgeworks staff and customers, while collaborating with the Youth Programs team to grow and maintain our youth climbing programs. Primarily responsible for facilitating Youth Program operations including: staff scheduling, indoor program oversight, and evaluation. The YPC reports directly to the Director of Youth Programs and the Operations Manager. As a leader, the YPC provides program support and growth opportunities for our team of Youth and Summer Camp Instructors. Our goal is to provide the highest quality experience possible for all students, from beginners to our advanced Team competitors.
Core Functions
- Serve as a point-of-contact and knowledge expert for Youth Programs
- Oversee Youth Programs staffing, including scheduling, instructor training, and mentorship
- Ensure that program curriculum is consistent and facilitates growth for youth climbers
- Oversee daily operations of indoor program offerings
- Monitor and report programming effectiveness to the Director of Youth Programs
Principal Activities
PROGRAM OVERSIGHT AND DEPARTMENT MANAGEMENT (80%)
- Implement and maintain an effective schedule of department offerings
- Implement recommended changes to the program structure and curricula when necessary
- Collaborate with Youth Programs Director to increase department offering visibility
- Lead recurring staff meetings to evaluate program quality, and team member performance
- Collaborate with Youth Programs team to ensure consistency across the department
- SCHOOL BREAK CAMPS
- Facilitate camp curriculum instructor training as necessary
- Oversee the daily operations of four annual school break camp offerings
- Provide resources and support to staff and customers when needed
CUSTOMER SUPPORT (20%)
- Develop and nurture new and existing relationships with program families
- Serve as a point-of-contact for customer service requests, and liaison with a manager or Youth Programs Director when necessary
- Recommended youth climber participant transitions between programs in a timely manner
Minimum Qualifications:
- Experience teaching to diverse audiences, including learners of all ages
- Resourceful, adaptable, and capable of problem solving
- Ability to learn and utilize computer software efficiently including Google Workspace and membership databases
- Able to communicate clearly, timely, and effectively with staff and customers via phone, email, and in-person
- Available to attend and support Edgeworks events (possible weeknights & weekends)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Indoor rock climbing knowledge and experience.
Physical Demands:
- Frequent typing and/or computer usage.
- Walking up/down stairs and gripping with hands. Occasionally reaching overhead, walking on various surfaces.
- Occasionally climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
- Occasionally lifting/moving of objects up to 5lbs, occasional lifting/moving up to 25lbs.

Employment Status, Compensation and Benefits:
- Part-Time, not to exceed 20 hours per week (Hours may include nights, weekends, or outside business regular hours)
