Zingerman's Greyline Cleaning Staff

Zingerman’s Greyline is an event venue operated by Zingerman’s Delicatessen Catering and Events. We host weddings, social gatherings, corporate events, and University of Michigan celebrations and trainings. This position would be responsible for keeping our venue clean, setting up tables and chairs, and readying the space for us to host amazing events.

Compensation: $20-$22 per hour (this includes additional event production compensation)

• Part-time, hourly position
• 15-20 hours per week is expected but can vary depending on the number of events
• Must have weekend and Holiday availability (we are closed on Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day)
• Shifts & times will vary depending on events
• There will be occasional opportunities to pick up event shifts

Our performance expectations - Essential Functions:

• Cleaning counters, sinks, equipment, floors, restrooms, etc. following a detailed checklist
• Uses cleaning supplies and chemicals correctly
• Demonstrates proper handling and storage of cleaning equipment
• Properly handles food service equipment
• Moves and arranges tables and chairs
• Ensuring that all rentals (plates, glassware, furniture, flatware, etc) are clean and properly stored
• Responds quickly to requests from guests, co-workers, supervisors and managers while being accurate, polite and enthusiastic
• Cleans and maintains a safe and sanitary work environment
• Treats customers and co-workers with courtesy and respect
• Takes no careless action, minimizing risk of injury to self or others
• Recognizes and acknowledges errors and potential quality problems
• Maintains Greyline standards of safety and ethics
• Reports to work on time and is ready to work at the start of each shift
• Follows proper procedure for sick calls and schedule requests

Physical Requirements:

• Stooping, Kneeling, and Crouching: Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist, requiring full use of the lower extremities and back muscles
• Handling: Seizing, holding, grasping, turning, or otherwise working with hand or hands
• Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction
• Near Vision: Clarity of vision at 20 inches or less
• Lifting: Raising or lowering an object, at least 50 lbs, from one level to another (includes upward pulling)
• Carrying: Transporting an object, up to 50 lbs, usually holding it in the hands or arms, or on the shoulder
• Standing: Remaining on one's feet in an upright position at a workstation without moving about for an extended period of time
• Feeling: Perceiving attributes of objects, such as size, shape, temperature, or texture, by touching with skin, particularly that of fingertips
