This position requires the student to produce and regularly post social media content for ELWS. The position will require the intern to work independently and as a part of a team to maintain a social media plan, to implement that plan, to assess its success, and make ongoing adjustments. The intern will be provided with a college laptop and will be permitted to work remotely.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2.0 GPA
  • Registered for 9.0 credit for Fall and Spring semesters
  • Registered for 6.0 credit hours for summer semester
  • Completed ENGL 1010
  • Experience creating content for 2 or more social media platforms
  • Participate in Campus Internship Program professional development activities
  • Maintain 15-20 hours per week work schedule

Preferred Qualifications: Desired Qualifications/Skills:Completed ENGL 1010 and 2010Social Media Knowledge: Experienced in using a variety of SMS platforms (e.g. Instagram, Snapchat, Tik-Tok, Twitter)Established writing practice: the candidate will have their own practice of writing (in any genre) on a regular basisOR Majoring in a communication field like Writing Studies, English Studies, or CommunicationsKnowledge, Skills & Abilities: Creativity: Interested in solving problem problems in innovative waysSelf-motivation: Responsible and organized to get tasks done without daily supervisionFlexible Writing Skills: ability to write effectively for different audiences in different contextsAnalytical Mind: Able to ask questions, see patterns, relationships, possibilitiesTeamwork: Able to work with diverse people and perspectivesInitiative: Able to proactively engage with campus constituents and ELWS faculty to build content.Willing to ask questions.Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of diverse people, ability, culture, ethnic background, to maintain good working relationships across the College.
