LOCATION

This position is located at our property Amankila.

THE POSITION

The Director of Rooms leads the Rooms Team in the provision and delivery of personalized g uest c are to enhance the guest experience of the Resort . He/ she is responsible for providing all guests with quality service while maximizing room revenue and productivity . The Director of Rooms develo ps and leads the relevant Heads of Department and encourages career growth of co lleagues .


RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Coordinate the organisation and administrative functions in all areas of the Rooms Divisionto provide all guests with quality service while maximizing room revenue and productivity
  • Provide solutions to improve problem areas and assist in implementing corrective measures
  • Monitor the occupancy forecast, manage the departmental budget and participate in P&L meetings
  • Assist with annual budget and strategy preparations, including capital submissions and ensure active control of annual budgeting
  • Have a thorough knowledge of product, including room types, amenities, services and be able to recommend changes as required
  • Coordinate the implementation of and enhancement to minimum standards of guest service
  • Stay informed of sales strategies, packages, promotions and discounts, and understand the impact on other departments
  • Build relationships and clear , open lines of communication with all departments
  • Manage guest feedback , create action plan s and follow up on a monthly basis with direct reports
  • Be critical and demanding of operating standards including revision/implementation of new standards
  • Manage all external contracts to ensure aligned service is received maximizing value for money
  • Drive the Rooms Division quality assurance program . Deliver a monthly report on Key issues, developments, outstanding works, and personal and financial concerns to Hotel Manager, GM and cc EXCOM
  • Implement and monitor programs to maintain the condition of Hotel assets in all Rooms Division areas
  • Create an environment that trains, develops, coaches and mentors colleague s
  • Conduct weekly SMART Plan review with all direct reports to ensure follows up to achieve the agreed goals & objectives
  • Actively participate in sales presentations, property tours and meetings as required
  • Conduct monthly walkthrough with Engineering, Housekeeping and D epartment Heads to ensure action and standards are maintained
  • Understand and abide by all Government laws relating to Rooms Division
  • Be well versed and knowledgeable of the hotels Fire Evacuation and all Emergency procedures as well as health and safety requirements in the Workplace. Ensure colleagues are aware of their duty of care as determined by legislation and that they maintain complete familiarity
  • Align management style, working practices and conduct with Aman’s vision, purpose & values, operating standards and policies. To comply with Aman’s code of conduct at all times
  • Directly manage certain departments that have been assigned by H M
  • Undertake additional duties as requested by the Hotel Manager

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Proven background and progression in Rooms Division with a current level of at least EAM Rooms or Rooms Division Manager
  • Skilled in problem analysis, problem solving and decision making
  • Ability to lead, motivate and develop colleagues
  • Must possess strong communication and listening skills, excellent speaking, reading and writing skills in English
  • Ability to effectively interact with people of diverse socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds
  • Track record of working collaboratively with others to achieve desired results
  • Possess n atural hosting skills, be engaging and effective in providing exceptional customer service
  • Financially savvy with the ability to improve the bottom line
  • Innovative and w ell ver s ed with technology, which helps Rooms Division to take next level
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
