Deskripsi Pekerjaan - Media Specialist


he Media Specialist will be primarily responsible for strategic communication planning and lead the end-to-end implementation under the supervision of the External Communication Coordinator of Yayasan Plan International Indonesia (Plan Indonesia). S/he will coordinate Plan Indonesia's overall media presence ranging from traditional to digital media through the Website, Facebook, Instagram, Tiktok, Twitter, and YouTube, and other potential platforms. The work includes monitoring, evaluation and reporting.
Dimensions of The Role
Contribute to National Communication plan and target for increasing brand positioning and visibility within the targeted audience
Act as digital communication focal point for Plan Indonesia from developing editorial planning, executing and monitoring the results of the activities and its contribution to national branding and communication target
Contribute to media engagement and activities with tier-1 national media, segmented media and local media
Ensure an effective traditional and social media campaign to help increase Plan Indonesia's brand visibility and showcase the organisation's works to the public and key stakeholders.
Accountabilities
Conduct strategic digital communication activities to improve trend of brand awareness of Plan Indonesia within targeted market and demography.
a. Urban and middle-upper societies are aware and interested in Plan Indonesia's
program impact and campaign
Develop social media information card containing killer fact which potentially attracts public stakeholders for further engagement
Develop monthly social media editorial plan showcasing highlighted works of Plan Indonesia to critical partners (i.e. government, donor agencies, corporates, influencers, youth network)
Actively participate in the monthly meeting with the Resource Mobilisation department
Collaborate with Resource Mobilisation to identify new/ potential activation on social media that attracts urban and middle-upper society
Support public events in collaboration with the Resource Mobilisation team to explore new audiences
b. Plan Indonesia's campaigns are acknowledged by crucial partners (i.e. government,
donor agencies, corporates, influencers, youth networks)
Support communication and influencing department to organise/arrange national campaign initiatives (Girls Get Equal, 16 Days of Anti Violence Against Women, Education Shifts Power, Girls in Crisis, Emergency Response, etc.)
Develop joint campaign content with key partners (i.e. government, donor agencies, corporates, influencers, youth network)
Develop social media campaign content according to the targeted audience.
Develop and update social media editorial plan for Plan Indonesia's digital presence through Website, Facebook, Instagram, Tiktok, Twitter, and YouTube, and other potential platforms
c. Plan Indonesia's teams and staff to become communicators and influencers for the
Girls' rights campaign
Promote campaign through Plan Indonesia social media channels and website
Maintain and update social media content for the campaign
Identify potential Plan Indonesia's staffs to help amplify the message on social media
2. Maintain effective media and communication messaging to enhance the visibility of Plan
Indonesia and promote as media reference and trendsetter on girls' rights issues.
a. Increased Plan Indonesia’s presence and key messages in national and local media
Implement a country media strategy aligned to programs’ communication strategy and linked to the global strategy, to deliver high impact media coverage in national market
Build and maintain strong engagement with media at national and local levels
Develop partnerships with media outlets, bloggers and influencers
Develop collaterals for media dissemination e.g. press release, media brief, success story for media, etc for campaigns, advocacy, resource mobilisation and other activations outside Plan Indonesia’s main programmes
Conduct engagement activities with media e.g. media gathering, competition, briefing, press conferences, etc.
Conduct media mapping in close coordination with communications team especially external communication coordinator
Monitor and evaluate the impact of media projects on national level and provide media monitoring report
Support the development of national level advocacy and campaign initiative to highlight YPII influencing priorities, and that subsequent campaigns have quality communication support in place that support campaign goals and results
b. Plan Indonesia's spokespersons become the go-to expert for media on girls' rights issues
Produce timely response on essential and urgent issues related to girls' rights issues in the forms of social media post
Maintain conversations and feedback (comments, likes, etc.) on social media daily
Support executing media partnership deals related to social media content.
c. Plan Indonesia's key messages are amplified by Key Opinion Leaders/ Influencers
through social media channels & public events
Develop an effective influencers engagement work plan for Plan Indonesia
Create social media content for collaboration with influencers that is interactive and innovative
Engage potential partners for social media activation, e.g. social media companies, corporates, influencers
Identify and assess KOL/influencers to engage for thematic campaigns
3.Increased reach, impressions and numbers of the audience on Plan Indonesia's social
media channels through digital content addressing the organisation's campaign
messages
Develop social media content regularly with solid and vital messages and interactive to the audience
Regularly monitor social media channels owned by Plan Indonesia (@Plan Indonesia, @GLAIndonesia, @Kitakerja.id, @JelajahTimur, @YHPIndonesia)
Produce user-friendly and engaging creative content according to the targeted audience for social media and website
Support communication manager to oversee social media channels owned by Plan Indonesia (@Plan Indonesia, @GLAIndonesia, @Kitakerja.id, @JelajahTimur, @YHPIndonesia)
Support standard operating procedure for Plan Indonesia's communications materials and activities
4.Ensure high quality of the information, education and communications (IEC) product to
influence targeted audience based on research and program/ campaign objective.
a. Success stories/ research findings/ campaign messages are developed into the right IEC
products according to the targeted audience
Develop a digital communications work plan for at least a year-long
Develop editorial plan monthly for main social media account of Plan Indonesia
Document and store all communication materials
Promote human-interest stories and photo/videos from youth through social media platforms and websites
Develop social media outreach and website monthly, quarterly and yearly to monitor its operations and impact on stakeholders
Manage external consultants as required for the development of agreed outputs
b. IEC products are disseminated and promoted effectively through the proper channels
according to the targeted audience
Disseminate IEC materials through social media and website
Develop and publish social media content on priority issues to respond to relevant momentum (International Day of the Girl, International Women's Day, World Toilet Day, Global Handwashing Day, Universal Children Day, National Children Day, etc.)
Ensure all products and publications are available on plan-international.or.id
Maintain the practical work and updated content of Plan Indonesia's website
c. All communication products are consistent with Plan International, Inc. Global Standard
on Brand and associated Brand Manual
Assist the implementation of sign-off policy and procedure for all communication materials
Promote highlighted works of Plan Indonesia to Global Hub and APAC platforms
Ensure all products and publications are available on internal platforms of Plan International, such as Media Bank, Planet 2.0, Workplace.
Technical Expertise, Skills, and Knowledge
Experience and Knowledge
Between 3-4 years of professional experience managing social media for non-profit organisations, social campaigns, or online media outlets.
Have a good sense and eyes of art for non-bias and inclusive graphic design and photographs
Experience working for NGO / non-profit sector is a valuable asset
Experience in the implementation and execution of communications strategy
Experience in handling multiple consultants
Experience in building and maintaining partnership with KOL/Influencers
Skills
Excellent skill in copywriting in Bahasa Indonesia and English
Appropriate skill in using design tools, such as Canva, capcut, etc.
Excellent skilled in popular writing and editing both in Indonesian and English
Excellent digital communication skills and technology savvy
Exceptional ability in managing multiple social media channels
Physical Environment:
Typical office environment with frequent travels, sometimes to remote areas (20%)
