Aliena is a spin-off company borne out of innovation conceptualized at the Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. The company aims to provide agility and new operational capability to micro and nanosatellites through the development of integrated solutions for propulsion and autonomous mission control. The technology developed at Aliena comes from fundamental research in plasma physics and decades of combined engineering expertise by the team in various fields including fluidic regulation systems, plasma propulsion and diagnostics, mechanical engineering, space systems engineering, and microelectronic engineering. Aliena closed a successful oversubscribed investment round in 2019 led by Cap Vista Pte Ltd – the strategic investment arm of Singapore’s Defence Science and Technology Agency, where Silicon Valley VC’s – 500 Startups, and leading Northern Australian Venture Capital Firm, Paspalis also participated.
The investment allowed for the team to commission the regions 1st privately owned Jet Propulsion Test Facility (JPTF), and a nanosatellite assembly/integration centre with an electronics diagnostic/development lab. This facility also houses a corporate HQ with rapid prototyping areas, embedded systems development equipment, offices and meeting spaces. The investment also allowed for the company to grow the team and to expand their product line for various classes of satellites. This serves as the springboard for the company to acquire customers through provision of hardware, services, and engagement in projects and commercial contracts for governmental and commercial platforms.
Aliena aims to provide mission enablers for emerging satellite missions, and hopes to be the “thrusted” partner for your space applications.
