• It has been providing many needy elderly with a place of comfort over the past 36 over years

• Besides receiving nominal fee from service users, we organized events and activities for funds to defray expenses

To promote a community spirit of helping out one another, and encourage the extension of one’s love

for their kith and kin, to the people and environment around them.

 

Mission

To improve the quality of life of the elderly through the effective use of available resources; thereby fulfilling the “ageing in place” philosophy of Geylang East Home For The Aged.

The following are the programmes / services provided by the GEHA

1.            Blk 97, Geylang East Home for the Aged :

A residential home to the needy old folks

To-date, we have a total of 37 home residents, consisting of 22 males and 15 females.

2.            Blk 96, Geylang East Senior Care Centre :

A place which provides integrated day care facilities in one convenient location.

（1） Maintenance Day Care provides day care (social activities and meals) for seniors while their

caregivers are at work

（2） Rehabilitation Day Services for residents who require rehabilitation services to improve muscle

strength, balance, endurance and fine motor skills.

（3） Dementia Day Care provides structured group and individual activities for person diagnosed

with mild and moderate dementia

3.            Blk 98, Harmony Activity Centre / Geylang East Neighbourhood Link :

A place for residents, volunteers and our full time staff to interact and work with each other for better, meaningful & dignified lives.

Services to elderly staying in 1-room & 2-room rental flat in our neighbourhood include - Free Meals Service, Food Ration, Exercises, Health Talk, Post-Death Undertakings. Main operations include outreach to at-risk / frail / housebound elderly, casework and case management.
