Careers at Singapore Athletic Association

Singapore Athletic Assocation was founded in 1934 . Our historic footprints began more than 60 years ago when we opened our doors to Singapore’s early athletes at the Farrer Park Stadium. Since then, Singapore Athletics has toiled and grown, and is now poised to chart new territories for the future.

Under the helm of a new dynamic team of volunteers and full-time secretariat , the association will take bold strides to nurture talents and work towards a holistic athlete development and making competitive athletics a viable career.

Boasting a membership of 21 affiliate institutions, Singapore Athletics (SA) continues to build on its proud history and tradition as Singapore’s governing body in the track and field for the new millennium

The Association has following key objectives:

1. Promote, develop, control and safeguard athletics ( track & field) and related desciplines such as marathon, cross-country, race-walking & Tug –of-War in all its aspects


2. Arrange and organise athletics related competitions and championships for the benefits of local athletics teams, affiliated members and foreign teams visiting Singapore


3. Arrange overseas training stints for our athletes


4. Organise courses & workshops for our coaches, instructors and technical officials


5. Select athletes and / or officials to represent the Republic of Singapore in athletics  competitions - local and overseas (Build a pipeline of quality athletes, coaches and team officials)


6. Obtain funds by way of entry or program fees, contributions, donations, subscriptions, grants and other lawful means, for furthering the objectives of our Association.

In addition to the above, our Association also helps to:

• Facilitate co-operation among all athletics affiliated clubs in Singapore


• Encourage, promote and assist in establishing any clubs for the promotion of athletics in Singapore


• Lead and assist in formulating commercial, marketing and PR policies; and in activities to promote athletics in Singapore


• Affiliate with International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF), the Asian Athletics Association, Tug-Of-War International Federation & Singapore National Olympic Council.


• Settle any dispute that may arise between affiliated members and clarify any doubt in the rules and regulations governing athletics as adopted by IAAF.
