Sompo Insurance Singapore Pte. Ltd. (Sompo Singapore) was formed in 2013 from the merger of Sompo Japan Insurance (Singapore) Pte. Ltd. and Tenet Insurance Company. In January 2014, it acquired the general insurance business of NIPPONKOA Insurance Co., Ltd., Singapore branch, to form an even larger entity in Singapore. Formerly known as Tenet Sompo Insurance Pte. Ltd., Sompo Singapore changed its name in May 2016 as part of the Sompo Japan Nipponkoa Group’s (Sompo Group) brand strategy to strengthen the “SOMPO” brand by unifying its group companies’ names.
