Associate, Fund Management - Asia Life Fund (12 months contract position)

The Role:

Reporting to a senior member of the team, the candidate will provide overall support to the Fund Manager and Portfolio Manager in pursuit of the Fund’s objectives for a global real estate mandate (US / Europe / Asia Pacific exposure) across Direct and Indirect investments.

The key objective of this role is to value-add to the business by:

1. Support portfolio reporting and data management, ensuring information is accurate and up-to-date. Taking the initiative to suggest improvements to existing reporting processes
2. Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders during investment transactions and reporting cycles. Communicate effectively by tailoring information to suit different audiences and contexts
3. Assist in portfolio analysis and scenario planning to evaluate investment performance across the investment mandates

Key Responsibilities for this role:

Portfolio Reporting

1. Maintain and update portfolio database and deliver monthly / quarterly reports to internal and external stakeholders
2. Monitor and provide analytical support on fund performance including hold / sell decisions
3. Provide operational support in the reporting for direct and indirect real estate investments, including extracting key performance metrics from investment reports
4. Monitor portfolio performance and risk indicators in line with investment strategy
5. Monitor environmental metrics at the fund / asset level and report on ESG objectives

Transaction Management

1. Assist in executing investment transactions post-approval, including coordinating with internal teams and external partners
2. Track key investment parameters and ensure alignment with Investment Committee approvals

Key Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

1. Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Real Estate or Finance
2. 1-3 years of relevant experience; prior exposure to real estate acquisitions, fund management, or portfolio reporting is advantageous
3. Strong attention to detail, with the ability to manage tasks independently and follow through reliably.
4. A self-motivated team player who is organized, resourceful, and eager to learn
5. Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across functions and levels
6. Curious and open-minded, with a willingness to explore new ideas and approaches
7. Comfortable working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities
8. Solid analytical and problem-solving skills; experience with Excel and presentation tools is a requirement. Prior experience with excel cash flow modeling is a plus
9. Professional, candid, and respectful in communication and interactions
10. A collaborative mindset, with a willingness to contribute to team success and learn from more senior colleagues
