Job Description - Senior BI Developer (1 year contract renewable)

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Take ownership of BI solutions, making independent technical decisions and clearly communicating trade-offs to stakeholders
Design, develop, and maintain Power BI reports, dashboards, and datasets aligned with business needs
Build and optimize SQL queries, data models, and ETL pipelines (SSIS/SSRS) to support reporting
Define and enforce best practices in data modelling, DAX, and performance optimization
Lead end-to-end BI delivery from requirements gathering to deployment and user adoption
Ensure data quality, security, compliance, and proper documentation across all deliverables
Drive innovation through cloud initiatives and AI/ML-enabled solutions to enhance analytics and insights
Collaborate with stakeholders, ensure data quality, security, compliance, and maintain proper documentation

The Successful Applicant

A successful candidate should have:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field
At least 8 years of hands-on experience with Microsoft BI tools, including Power BI (Desktop, Service, Report Server)
Strong expertise in DAX, Power Query (M), and Power BI features such as RLS, incremental refresh, and deployment pipelines
Proficiency in SQL, including complex query optimization, and experience with SSRS and SSIS
Experience with .NET (preferably C#) for BI integrations and data workflow development
Strong stakeholder management skills and experience working in Agile environments (Scrum/Kanban), with tools like JIRA and Control-M
Familiarity with AWS data services and solid understanding of AI/ML concepts, tools, and practical application opportunities
Required Certificates like Microsoft Power BI Data Analyst Associate (PL-300) & AI / ML Fundamentals (any recognized certification)
