Job Description - Account Manager

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of clients across various industries, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of accounting services.
  • Oversee the preparation and review of full sets of accounts, management reports, financial statements, and month-end/year-end closing.
  • Ensure compliance with Singapore Financial Reporting Standards (SFRS), regulatory requirements, and company policies.
  • Supervise and mentor accounting staff, providing guidance, training, and performance management.
  • Review GST submissions, financial reports, and supporting schedules prepared by the team.
  • Liaise with clients, auditors, tax consultants, banks, and regulatory authorities on accounting and financial matters.
  • Coordinate year-end audits and ensure timely completion of audit requirements.
  • Monitor project timelines, team workload, and service delivery to meet client expectations and deadlines.
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, workflows, and internal controls.
  • Support business development initiatives by building strong client relationships and identifying additional service opportunities.
  • Keep abreast of changes in accounting standards, tax regulations, and industry best practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • Professional qualification such as ACCA, or equivalent is preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a Singapore accounting firm or Corporate Service Provider (CSP).
  • At least 2 years of experience in a supervisory or managerial role.
  • Strong knowledge of Singapore Financial Reporting Standards (SFRS), GST regulations, and corporate compliance requirements.
  • Experience in managing full sets of accounts and preparing financial statements for multiple clients.
  • Proficient in accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks or similar accounting systems.
  • Strong analytical, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a client-focused mindset.
  • Able to manage multiple client engagements and work effectively under tight deadlines.
  • Meticulous, proactive, and capable of working independently as well as leading a team.
