Key Responsibilities
• Manage full set of accounts, including AP, AR, GL, bank reconciliation, and month-end/year-end closing
• Prepare and analyze monthly financial reports, balance sheets and other relevant reports
• Prepare and file regulatory returns to authorities, including GST returns, corporate tax filing, and annual returns in XBRL format
• Review and manage employee expense claims in a timely and accurate manner.
• Maintain and improve internal accounting procedures and controls
• Liaise with external auditors, tax agents, and banks as needed
• Support management with financial analysis and budgeting when required
• Assist in implementing accounting systems (SAP) and process enhancements
• Assist with ad-hoc finance projects and cross-functional collaborations as needed.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent
• At least 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in a commodities trading, oil & gas, or international trading environment
• Knowledge of Singapore Financial Reporting Standards and GST regulations
• Strong proficiency in Excel and accounting systems (e.g., SAP, Xero, or equivalent)
• Good understanding of trade finance documents, LC, incoterms, and international shipping practices
• Strong attention to detail, ability to meet deadlines, and work independently
• Professional qualifications (e.g., ACCA, CPA) are a plus
• Competency in Mandarin to be able to liaise effectively with native Mandarin-speaking stakeholders and to understand Chinese documents.
