Accountant

Position Summary 

The Accountant will oversee financial reporting, budgeting, regulatory compliance, internal controls, and selected corporate governance functions. The role also provides oversight of the organisation's IT administration and operations. 

Key Responsibilities 

Financial Management 

• Review accounting entries to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and internal policies. 

• Strengthen financial processes, controls, and operational efficiency. 

• Monitor cash flow and oversee regulatory reporting requirements. 

• Support year-end closing, audits, and corporate governance matters. 

Management Reporting and Budgeting 

• Lead the annual budgeting process and monitor budget utilisation. 

• Prepare management reports, financial analyses, and schedules. 

• Support strategic planning and organisational budgeting exercises. 

• Provide financial information and analysis to management as required. 

IT Administration 

• Oversee IT operations and liaise with external IT service providers. 

• Ensure IT systems, assets, user access, and security measures are properly managed. 

• Maintain IT policies and support business operations. 

Other Responsibilities 

• Drive productivity and process improvement initiatives. 

• Participate in projects and undertake other duties as assigned. 

Requirements 

• Degree in Accountancy, Finance, or a related discipline. 

• Minimum 2–4 years of relevant accounting experience, including month-end and year-end closing. 

• Proficient in Xero, Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications. 

• Conversant with Charity Accounting Standards and major government agencies’ funding requirements and processes will be advantageous 

• Good communication and interpersonal skills. 

• Meticulous, organised, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
