Job Description - ACCOUNTANT

Job Summary

Maintain and manage comprehensive accounting records and financial reporting for Food & Beverage operations, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and efficiency to support business decision-making and operational cost control.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate accounting records for all Food & Beverage operations to ensure financial integrity.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, monthly, and annual financial reports and management accounts to support operational and strategic decisions.
  • Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger transactions to maintain up-to-date financial data.
  • Reconcile bank accounts, supplier statements, customer accounts, and inventory records to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Monitor food and beverage sales, revenue, expenses, and profit margins to track financial performance.
  • Prepare invoices, payment vouchers, receipts, and journal entries to document financial transactions.
  • Monitor inventory costs, food costs, beverage costs, and operational expenses to control expenditures.
  • Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning for Food & Beverage operations to support business growth.
  • Process payroll and ensure timely payment of salaries and statutory contributions where applicable to comply with regulations.
  • Prepare tax returns and ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and company policies.
  • Coordinate with auditors, banks, suppliers, and government authorities during audits and financial reviews to facilitate smooth processes.
  • Prepare cost analysis reports and recommend measures to improve cost control and operational efficiency.
  • Maintain confidentiality of financial information while ensuring accurate financial records.
  • Perform other accounting and finance-related duties as assigned by management.

Preferred competencies and qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2–5 years of accounting experience, preferably in the Food & Beverage or hospitality industry.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, inventory accounting, food cost control, and taxation.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Strong analytical, numerical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and maintain strict confidentiality of financial information.
