Job Description - Accountant

Aramco Asia is a group of Asian wholly owned subsidiaries of Saudi Aramco Asia Company, and they share a key mission in serving Saudi Aramco’s corporate strategic initiatives in the Asia-Pacific region. We are in the search for a Accountant to join the team.

Function

Provide professional accounting review and services to support the Finance Manager in reviewing the accounting work conducted in the areas of Accounts Receivables, Account Payables, and General Support, as well as the professional preparation of the Company's Financial Statements in accordance with the local accounting GAAP, IFRS & Accounting Manual, and/or treasury services and operations in compliance with the local and governmental financial regulations.

Scope

Report to Finance Manager or Treasurer. Work under minimum supervision.

Provide a wide range of professional Accounting and/or Treasury activities independently such as Account Booking and Closing, Accrual, Reconciliation, General Ledger, Cash Forecast, Cash Management, etc.

Responsible for providing financial and Professional services; include operating the accounting of the Company’s collections, disbursements activities.

Internal:

  • Regularly with all levels of the Company Directors and staff to reply to inquiries, discuss problems in application and interpretation of accounting and financial policy, and provide advice and assistance on accounting and financial matters.
  • On daily basis work with all levels of the Company, branch offices and to support the Finance/Tax Manager in the response to SAO Finance and Accounting Division Heads inquiries, discuss problems in application and interpretation of treasury and financial policies, and provide assistance Finance Manager or the Treasurer on treasury and financial matters.
  • Continuously communicate with relevant Departments’ Managers to facilitate the professional processes of Tax and Financial matters.

External:

  • Under minimum supervision, deal with company’s external auditors.
  • Frequently with vendors regarding invoices/payments and vendor price adjustment.
  • Periodically with Accountants Firms regarding accounting requirements such Transfer Price issues.
  • Frequently with distributors/key account customers regarding invoices/payments and price adjustment.
  • Frequently communicate with banks regarding receipts/outwards payments, investment and Foreign Exchange regulation, as well as improve payment collection.
  • Periodically communicate with Bank and Central Bank Officers regarding Foreign Exchange Accounting requirements.

Controller

  • Perform wide range of professional Accounting tasks under minimum supervision, include but not limited to Accrual, Payroll accounting, Tax Compliance, Treasury Services, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivables, and Reconciliation, monthly closing, General Ledger, Financial Reporting, Contract Review, Planning and Budgeting, Cost Allocation, etc.
  • Review payment documents and review contracts and agreements to ensure the payments accuracy.
  • Carry out billing/invoice, collection and reporting activities according to the policy and procedures.
  • Determine the classification of expenditure (Expenses vs. Capital) according to the Accounting policies and procedures.
  • Prepare monthly reconciliation report, month-end closing, and financial and management reports.
  • Advise on Accounting Instructions and procedures used internally by the office.
  • Identify and report to Finance Manager the problems or unusual situations, and provide recommendations for corrective action.
  • Prepare Cash Forecast Statement and Cash Analysis to the Treasury or Finance Manager.

Treasury

  • Prepare receipt/payment instruction according to bank requirements.
  • Perform petty cash and bank account management according to the policy and procedure.
  • Update and maintain specified receipt/payment log and bank database.
  • Prepare for month-end closing bank account summary.
  • Prepare proper documentation necessary for international transfer in accordance with the governmental regulations or auditing purposes.
  • File bank statement, debit/credit notes and other required documentation.
  • Determine proper account to be used for charging cost (financial expenses).
  • Prepare Cash Forecast Statement and Cash Analysis to the Treasury or Finance Manager.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree in Accounting, Business Administration,Tax, Finance or equivalent.
  • Eight (8) years of diversified experience in corporate financial accounting or tax accounting or six - eight (6 - 8) years of experience and a Master Degree in the areas Fiance, Accounting, Tax or equivalent.
  • Must professionally qualified as CPA, CMA, ACCA, CIA or equivalent.
  • Fluent in English communication.
  • Attention to detail and ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks under pressure.
  • Deep understanding of business needs.
  • Discrete with highly confidential and sensitive information.
  • Approachable personaluty with professional customer/service focus.
