Accountant

The Accountant is primarily responsible for overseeing month-end closing activities, preparing financial reports and analyses, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards, internal policies, and best practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure timely and accurate completion of month-end and year-end closing processes
• Prepare financial statements, management reports, and financial analyses accurately and on time
• Process journal entries and account reconciliations using Sage X3 and/or BlackLine
• Manage Fixed Assets accounting, including capitalization, disposals, depreciation schedules, and policy compliance
• Support budgeting activities and cash flow forecasting
• Assist in the preparation and submission of statutory financial reports
• Identify and recommend improvements to finance processes and workflows to enhance efficiency and internal controls
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, statutory requirements, and company policies
• Coordinate with tax agents and local authorities on compliance and audit matters
• Work closely with external auditors to facilitate audit processes and timely statutory filings
• Perform additional duties and ad-hoc assignments as required

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a professional accounting qualification such as ACCA or CIMA
• Minimum 5 years of relevant Accounting & Finance experience, preferably within Manufacturing or Logistics industries
• Experience in process improvement or optimization initiatives is an added advantage
• Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Proactive, self-driven, and accountable with good attention to detail
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment
• Adaptable and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
