We are seeking anexperienced, detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Executive to independentlymanage the day-to-day accounting, tax compliance and corporate operationalcompliance matters of our Singapore office.
The successfulcandidate must have solid hands-on experience in handling a full set ofaccounts, month-end closing, financial reporting, Singapore tax matters andstatutory compliance requirements. The candidate should be able to managerecurring deadlines, liaise with external professional service providers andensure that the company’s financial and compliance obligations are completedaccurately and on time.
This role requires ahigh level of accuracy, accountability, initiative and follow-through, with theability to work independently under minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting and Financial Reporting
Handle a full set of accounts, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger and fixed assets.
Process and verify invoices, payments, receipts, expense claims and other accounting transactions.
Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, prepayments, depreciation and other accounting adjustments.
Perform bank, vendor, customer and intercompany reconciliations.
Independently manage month-end and year-end closing processes and ensure that all accounts are completed accurately and within the required deadlines.
Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports, including profit and loss statements, and balance sheets.
Monitor outstanding receivables and payables and follow up promptly on overdue or unresolved matters.
Maintain complete and properly organised accounting records and supporting documents.
Singapore Tax and Statutory Compliance
Prepare and submit Singapore GST returns accurately and within the statutory deadlines.
Assist with or coordinate corporate income tax matters, including Estimated Chargeable Income, annual tax computations and corporate income tax returns.
Identify transactions that may be subject to Singapore withholding tax and coordinate the relevant filings and payments.
Maintain proper tax schedules, supporting documents and records for tax reporting and audit purposes.
Liaise with the Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore, tax agents and other professional advisers on tax-related queries and submissions.
Keep up to date with relevant changes in Singapore tax regulations and assess their impact on the company’s operations.
Corporate and Operational Compliance
Maintain a compliance calendar covering tax filings, statutory submissions, licence renewals, insurance renewals and other recurring corporate obligations.
Coordinate with the company secretary on Annual Return filings, changes in directors, shareholders, registered office, company officers and other ACRA-related matters.
Assist in preparing information and supporting documents required for statutory filings, corporate records and regulatory submissions.
Monitor the validity and renewal dates of business licences, registrations, permits, insurance policies and corporate service agreements.
Support compliance with internal approval procedures, payment controls, record-keeping requirements and company policies.
Assist with payroll-related matters, CPF submissions and employee expense reimbursements, where required.
Identify potential tax, accounting or operational compliance issues and escalate them to management promptly.
Audit and Internal Controls
Coordinate with external auditors and prepare audit schedules, supporting documents and responses to audit queries.
Assist with the implementation and improvement of accounting procedures, internal controls and compliance processes.
Perform other accounting, tax, compliance and administrative duties assigned by management.
Requirements
Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
At least five years of relevant hands-on accounting experience in Singapore.
Proven experience in independently handling a full set of accounts and month-end closing.
Practical working knowledge of Singapore Financial Reporting Standards and general accounting principles.
Strong practical knowledge of Singapore GST and corporate income tax requirements.
Familiarity with Estimated Chargeable Income, corporate income tax returns, withholding tax and other IRAS-related compliance matters.
Familiarity with Singapore corporate statutory requirements, including ACRA Annual Returns and maintenance of corporate records.
Experience liaising with auditors, tax agents, corporate secretaries, banks and government agencies.
Experience in maintaining statutory and operational compliance calendars is preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables and data reconciliation.
Hands-on experience with Million Accounting Software is strongly preferred.
Good communication skills in Chinese and English.
Experience in a multinational or group-company environment would be an advantage.
