Asia Equity Portfolio Finance Trader

Position Overview:

• Manage Squarepoint's APAC equity financing — borrow rates, locates and inventory, and utilization across our prime brokers
• Deepen the dialogue with our prime broker partners across the region; negotiate commercial terms including outperformance rebates, pay-to-hold arrangements, and box structures
• Monitor recall quality and proactively manage borrow risk across the platform
• Provide color and structure around special situations and corporate actions impacting financing
• Partner with research teams to understand their strategies and unlock capacity to scale existing and new opportunities
• Build out reporting within the team to help scale our financing activity efficiently, and contribute to PnL and cost-allocation analysis
• Apply an understanding of FX dynamics and margin mechanics to optimize capital usage across the region
• Stay close to APAC market structure and regulatory developments, and translate them into actionable opportunities

Required Qualifications:

• 3+ years of buy- or sell-side experience in Portfolio Finance, Delta One, Stock Loan, or a closely related role 
• Sound grasp of financing, stock loan, and cash-management concepts
• Effective communicator and confident negotiator with third-party counterparties
• Technical fluency in Python (or a comparable language) for analysis and automation
• Mandarin language skills a plus
