Assistant Director, Structured Finance, Investment Banking

Bank of China Singapore Branch (BOCSG) is looking to hire an Assistant Director/Senior Assistant Director/ Deputy Director for its Structured Finance Team, housed under the Investment Banking Department, as part of the branch’s Investment Banking Division (the "Division"). In this job you will play an active advisory role in the management of the Structured Finance team's origination, structuring and execution of Project Finance, Structured Export Finance/ ECA.

As part of the Division's ambition in providing strategic advice across M&A, Capital Markets and Debt solutions to BOCSG’s highest tier of global clients across all sectors, the Structured Finance team drives event-driven, transformational, complex debt financing transactions.

Job description

- Drive origination and execution of Project Financing, Structured Export Financing and ECA. Oversee relevant portfolio and customer relationship on a daily basis.

- Advise, structure and execute complex and large-scale financing solutions tailored to clients' needs, through partnering Corporate Banking RMs and Product teams.

- Contribute to associated Financial Market hedging solutions as part of aforementioned transactions.

- Partner advisory teams within the Division on thought-pieces (pitchbooks) for event driven ideas generated by IBD, comprising of integrated debt (bonds, loans), and hedging solutions.

- Draw up term sheets, credit memos, financial modelling and info memos, periodic review of assigned portfolio, as well as the preparation and coordination of internal approval documents.

- Active management of the overall risk profile of assets throughout project life, including ongoing monitoring of client and project conditions, proactive risk identification, recommendation of risk mitigants, and management reporting.

- Support industry related research and strategy exercises such as development of new growth areas, country strategies and industry benchmarking.

- Maintain active pipeline discussions and collaboration with Corporate Banking, Financial Markets, Transaction Banking, Private Banking, Risk Management, etc.

- Liaise with external and internal relevant stakeholders, assess risk factors and tailor-make bespoke solutions.

- Maintain client contact in both the marketing and execution phases of transactions.

- Build complex Project Finance models and quality stamping/ assuming responsibility for different output generated by junior staff (i.e. presentations, credit proposals).

- Coaching, training and development of junior team members.

Requirements

- More than 5 years of experience in Project and Structured Export Finance/ECA.

- Worked alongside Investment Banking, Sector Coverage, Strategic Advisory, Corporate Finance

- Profound understanding and in-depth knowledge of Project Finance.

- Fluent in English with a strong preference for fluency in Mandarin as the role requires the candidate to liaise with clients base in Greater China.

- You understand what is needed in the role: you have a proven track record in structuring, negotiating and execution of complex (international) Project Financing and Structured Export Financing/ECA transactions.

- Strong business development skills with broad market knowledge, client network and presence.

- Education: university degree preferably in banking & finance, accounting economics or equivalent.
