Assistant Manager, Regulatory Operations

About the Role

Leading fintech payments company, is looking for an Assistant Manager, Regulatory Operations to support the end-to-end regulatory operations and customer funds safeguarding function. This role is ideal for someone with hands-on experience in regulatory reporting, regulatory operations, and safeguarding customer funds within a payments, fintech environment. You will work closely with Finance, Compliance, Risk, Legal, and Technology teams to ensure regulatory obligations are met while driving operational excellence across multiple jurisdictions.

Responsibilities

Regulatory Operations & Reporting

• Manage end-to-end regulatory operations and reporting activities across multiple jurisdictions.
• Prepare and submit accurate regulatory filings, including financial, transaction, and regulatory reports.
• Maintain regulatory documentation and audit trails to support regulatory examinations and internal reviews.
• Monitor regulatory requirements and ensure timely compliance with evolving regulations.

Customer Funds Safeguarding

• Support the safeguarding of customer funds in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements.
• Perform and oversee safeguarding controls, reconciliations, and reporting activities.
• Identify operational risks relating to customer funds and recommend appropriate control enhancements.

Process Improvement

• Review and improve regulatory reporting processes for greater efficiency, scalability, and accuracy.
• Support automation initiatives involving data extraction, validation, and reporting.
• Identify process gaps and implement practical operational improvements.

Stakeholder Management

• Partner closely with Finance, Compliance, Risk, Legal, and Technology teams on regulatory matters.
• Support internal and external audits, regulatory inspections, and compliance reviews.
• Collaborate with regional stakeholders to ensure consistent regulatory operations across jurisdictions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in hands-on Regulatory Operations and Regulatory Reporting within a payments company, fintech, or banking environment.
• Strong experience in customer funds safeguarding, including safeguarding controls, reconciliations, or customer money management.
• Practical experience preparing and submitting regulatory reports to financial regulators.
• Strong understanding of regulatory operations rather than purely advisory or policy-focused compliance.
• Experience supporting multi-jurisdiction regulatory operations is an advantage.
