Job Description - Associate Finance Manager

We are seeking an experienced and driven Associate Finance Manager to join our dynamic finance team. This role is responsible for overseeing financial operations across Singapore and overseas entities, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and group policies. The successful candidate will play a key role in financial reporting, business partnering, process improvement, and supporting strategic initiatives to drive sustainable business growth.

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Management & Reporting
  • Manage and oversee the full spectrum of accounting and finance functions for Singapore and overseas entities.
  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with local and international accounting standards.
  • Review management accounts, consolidation reports, cash flow forecasts, and statutory financial reports.
  • Lead month-end and year-end closing activities and coordinate audits with external auditors.
  • Support the Finance Director and senior management with financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and performance reporting.

    2. Regional Finance Operations & Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with local statutory requirements, tax regulations, and corporate governance standards across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Oversee tax filings, GST/VAT reporting, corporate income tax matters, and regulatory submissions.
  • Manage relationships with external auditors, tax consultants, corporate secretaries, and regulatory authorities.
  • Monitor changes in accounting regulations and assess their impact on business operations.

    3. Business Partnering & Strategic Support
  • Partner with project teams and department heads to provide financial insights and support business decision-making.
  • Conduct financial analysis, profitability assessments, and investment evaluations for business initiatives.
  • Support strategic planning, business expansion, and operational improvement projects.
  • Provide recommendations to management on financial risks, opportunities, and cost optimization initiatives.

    4. Systems, Controls & Process Improvement
  • Lead finance system enhancement initiatives and support integration of overseas entities into the Group's financial framework.
  • Collaborate with IT and business stakeholders to improve financial systems, reporting capabilities, and automation processes.
  • Strengthen internal controls, policies, and procedures to improve governance and operational efficiency.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to streamline finance and accounting workflows.

    5. Cross-Functional Collaboration & Stakeholder Management
  • Provide guidance, coaching, and support to accounting and finance team members.
  • Foster strong collaboration across finance, operations, project teams, and overseas offices.
  • Act as a key liaison between local finance teams and Group Finance to ensure alignment with corporate objectives and reporting requirements.

    6. Ad-Hoc Projects
  • Support mergers, acquisitions, restructuring exercises, and other corporate finance initiatives when required.
  • Undertake additional assignments and special projects as directed by management.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline; CPA, CA, ACCA, or equivalent professional qualification preferred.
  • Minimum 7–10 years of relevant accounting and finance experience, including experience in both Big 4 audit firms and commercial/in-house finance environments.
  • Prior experience managing regional or overseas finance operations is highly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS/SFRS, financial reporting, tax regulations, and statutory compliance requirements.
  • Proven experience in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and ERP/accounting systems.
  • Experience in finance transformation, system implementation, or process improvement initiatives is advantageous.
  • Bilingual in English and Mandarin to communicate effectively with Chinese-speaking stakeholders and overseas counterparts.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence across functions and levels.
  • Self-motivated, resilient, and adaptable in a fast-paced and evolving business environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership potential with a strong commitment to professional development and career growth.
