Job Description - Client Onboarding Specialist

Summary

Responsible for conducting customer due diligence reviews, documentation and static data updates for new accounts, and ongoing periodic customer reviews in line with MAS regulations, Group directives and local policies. This position reports to the Head of Account Opening & CDD Team under Operation Services function.

Job Description

  • Conduct comprehensive customer due diligence (“CDD”) and documentation reviews for the acceptance of new clients and periodic account reviews.
  • Ensure strict adherence to Group and local policies and procedures, and MAS regulations during the due diligence process for new account openings and existing client accounts.
  • Collaborate closely with relevant business teams and key stakeholders to address any CDD deficiencies required for client acceptance.
  • Contribute to execution of the Bank’s account opening review process while complying with regulatory requirements.
  • Upkeeping of relevant CDD internal policies and procedures to be in line with regulatory changes.
  • Perform assessment on Customer Database Check Screening alerts generated daily.
  • Account opening and KYC reviews statistics reporting to management.
  • Provide administrative support on CIF and account set-up/maintenance for customers, with strict adherence to internal policies, guidelines and service level agreement.
  • Collaborate closely with internal departments to facilitate client/account data processing and monitoring.
  • Provide general control management such as audit requests confirmation, dormant account management, returned mails, etc.
  • Handle physical documentation review including storage, record keeping and archival.
  • Participate in projects, system upgrades, UAT, SOPs review, and streamlining processes.

Job requirements

  • Minimum 10 years of prior experience in CDD and customer account static data maintenance within the corporate banking and private wealth management segments. Experience in handling private wealth clients onboarding will be an advantage.
  • Strong understanding of local AML/CFT regulations and industry best practices.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize, multitask across functions, meet deadlines, and work independently.
  • Relevant experience in banking systems such as Flexcube and Avaloq is preferred.
  • Willing to work on ad-hoc tasks assigned by the Team Lead and Head of Operations.
  • Good communication skills with the ability to communicate with various stakeholders and Head Office teams in Taiwan.
