Contract Operations Analyst – Securities Settlements

My client is looking for an incumbent with 1–2 years experience to support the Japan trading and sales activities from Singapore

About the Team

The Japan Securities Settlements Operations team supports Tokyo-based trading and sales desks, ensuring seamless securities and cash exchanges. Though the business is Japan-focused, the team operates out of Singapore, offering a global perspective and collaborative culture.

The position involves ensuring timely transaction delivery, maintaining operational controls to mitigate operational risks.

• Daily functions include high volume and constant liaising with agent banks, brokers and counterparties throughout the Japan market hours via telephone and emails. Pre-matching and fail trade management abiding to strict market cut offs, report preparation and break resolution are also part of the scope.

As an Operations Analyst, you’ll play a key role in ensuring smooth and timely securities transactions. Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing high-volume trade settlements and ensuring timely delivery
• Liaising with agent banks, brokers, and counterparties during Japan market hours via phone and email
• Handling pre-matching, fail trade resolution, and strict market cut-off adherence
• Preparing reports and resolving trade breaks
• Maintaining robust operational controls to mitigate risk

What We’re Looking For

• 1–2 years of experience in operations, preferably in finance or securities settlements
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with sharp attention to detail
• Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
• Self-starter with a collaborative mindset and ownership of tasks
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• This is a 6 month renewable contract

Preferred Qualifications

• Fluent in Japanese (spoken and written) – highly preferred but not mandatory
• Exposure to equity products or prior experience in settlements
