Data Migration - Banking Collections Systems SME

Join a global banking organisation as the Data Migration & Collections Systems SME, leading end‑to‑end data conversion, functional validation, and delivery oversight for a large‑scale Collections system modernisation.

Key Responsibilities

Collections & Functional Expertise

• Provide SME guidance across delinquency, recoveries, write‑offs, legal processes, and workflow operations.

• Translate business needs into functional and technical specifications for the target platform.

• Review solution designs and configurations to ensure compliance and functional accuracy.

Data Migration & Conversion Delivery

• Lead strategy and execution for data migration, including mapping, cleansing, reconciliation, and validation.

• Manage full legacy‑to‑target data conversion cycles, mock runs, and cutover readiness.

• Resolve data defects and quality issues with technical teams.

• Coordinate delivery across architecture, engineering, testing, and infrastructure teams.

• Oversee dependencies across internal teams and external vendors.

Testing & Readiness

• Drive functional, integration, and end‑to‑end testing from a Collections SME perspective.

• Ensure test coverage reflects real operational scenarios and conversion outcomes.

• Support go‑live preparation, transition activities, and hypercare.

Stakeholder & Vendor Management

• Act as a key interface between business, technology, and vendor teams.

• Provide clear updates on progress, risks, and issues.

• Validate vendor deliverables and ensure alignment with functional expectations.

Required Experience

• 10+ years in banking Collections systems, operations, or platform delivery.

• Experience in Collections system upgrades, replacements, or transformation programmes.

• Strong background in enterprise data migration and conversion.

• Proven ability to lead functional delivery and manage complex programme dependencies.

• Experience working with vendors or system integrators in regulated environments.

Skills

• Deep knowledge of Collections lifecycle and business rules.

• Strong understanding of data migration methodologies and cutover execution.

• Ability to interpret functional designs, data models, and interfaces.

• Familiarity with Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery models.

• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and stakeholder management skills.

• Comfortable working in fast‑paced transformation environments.

Nice to Have

• Experience with commercial or consumer Collections platforms.

• Exposure to regulatory or compliance‑driven Collections environments.

• Background combining SME expertise with delivery leadership.
