Job Description - Equity Trader

Role Overview

Equity trader within the global central execution team, supporting the expansion of the firm's global footprint. Responsible for executing European and US cash equities and related instruments on behalf of multi-strategy portfolios and regional PMs, with a strong focus on best execution, liquidity sourcing, and disciplined implementation of trading strategies. Contributes to trading cost analysis (TCA) and the continuous improvement of execution quality.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage order flow and trade execution in assigned markets and sectors.
  • Engage Portfolio Managers and Analysts on market colour, positioning, and events.
  • Monitor portfolio risk, market conditions, flow, and proactively flagging relevant developments to PMs and the central execution team.
  • Apply solid knowledge of equity trading and market microstructure to support PMs on implementation and the choice of trading strategies.
  • Support the efficiency and optimization of execution workflows through improved tools, automation, and technology.
  • Help manage and maintain broker relationships and engage with key market participants.
  • Contribute to TCA for European and US equity flows; help identify drivers of slippage and surface actionable improvements.
  • Work effectively with Operations, Compliance, Risk Management, and Technology to ensure robust front-to-back processes and controls.
  • Support coordination between the London trading desk and Singapore headquarters on business needs, markets, flows, and risk themes.

Experience and Qualifications Required

  • 5–8 years' experience in equities trading on the buy side and/or sell side (hedge fund, investment bank, or related roles).
  • Solid knowledge of cash equity and listed/OTC equity derivatives in Europe and the US; multi-asset exposure is a plus.
  • Good understanding of European and US market microstructure, including auctions, dark/conditional venues, internalization, and crossing.
  • Hands-on experience with electronic trading, algos, and multi-venue execution; comfortable managing high-volume, multi-instrument order flow.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder skills, able to interact confidently with PMs, analysts, and sell-side counterparts.
  • Commercial and service-oriented mindset with a strong sense of ownership over execution quality.
  • Ability to prioritize, multitask, and manage workload effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy across trading and reporting.
  • Collaborative team player.
