Job Purpose
This is a strategic role to develop a business strategy towards the relationships with the subsidiaries of top-tier Western/Asian multinational corporates to generate mutually beneficial business opportunities for both customers and SMBC through financial solutions. This position also requires the following as deputy at CBGS:
- To support the General Manager for CBGS, and guide our other staff to help them maximize their performance
- To achieve the given targets and KPIs, as set by our head office through leadership within CBGS and close collaboration with the various stakeholders
Job Responsibilities
- To build a strong compliance and risk management culture within CBGS, and ensure that our staff comply with SMBC’s rules and regulatory requirements.
- To establish a business strategy for CBGS, including for the various business areas and conduct this strategy as planed with the support of our GM.
- To liaise with the other colleagues from our various teams through close communication, and establishing an overall positive culture of collaboration and contributing benefit to CBGS.
- To train our staff within CBGS, helping them to develop their career progression within SMBC, and in turn help create the future leadership of SMBC by developing their capabilities.
- To run the day to day operations at CBGS under the leadership of our GM, and to try and avoid any disruption to our customers by guiding our respective teams.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Law, Marketing, Accounting or Finance
- Knowledge of financial/managerial accounting and banking regulations within Asian countries
- At least 15 years’ experience in corporate banking, preferably with Japanese banking experience.
- Experience in managing top-tier Western/Asian Multinational corporations and living within Asian countries
- Excellent banking skills including credit analysis
- Proficiency in Japanese is advantageous as the role will be assisting to prepare reports in Japanese and coordinate with the Tokyo Head Office
- Ability to communicate with people of various backgrounds
