We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Finance Executive to support the daily finance and accounting operations of the company. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing accounting functions, maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, and supporting month-end and year-end closing activities. This role requires a proactive individual who is organised, analytical, and able to work independently while collaborating effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Handle the full spectrum of Accounts Receivable (AR), Accounts Payable (AP), and General Ledger (GL) functions.
Record and process all financial transactions accurately using double-entry accounting principles.
Verify, classify, and assign appropriate accounting codes for all transactions.
Prepare and maintain accounting schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
Process supplier invoices, payments, customer billings, and collections in a timely manner.
Perform bank reconciliations and prepare banking documentation.
Prepare and submit GST returns accurately and on time.
Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reports.
Support month-end and year-end closing activities, including journal entries, accruals, and prepayments.
Prepare balance sheets, income statements, cash flow reports, and other financial reports in accordance with accounting standards and company policies.
Maintain accurate accounting records and ensure proper filing of financial documents.
Handle petty cash reimbursement, verification, and reconciliation.
Perform inventory audits, stock reconciliations, and costing analysis.
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
Monitor outstanding receivables and follow up on overdue accounts.
Liaise with auditors, tax agents, banks, suppliers, and government authorities when required.
Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and statutory regulations.
Assist with internal and external audit processes by preparing schedules and supporting documents.
Support payroll-related finance functions where required.
Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and operational efficiency.
Prepare ad hoc financial reports and undertake any other duties assigned by the Finance Manager or Management.
Job Requirements
Minimum Diploma in Accountancy, Finance, or a related discipline.
At least 2 years of relevant accounting experience in a similar role.
Experience in the hospitality industry will be an advantage.
Experience handling a full set of accounts is preferred.
Knowledge of GST regulations and statutory compliance in Singapore.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, especially Microsoft Excel.
Experience with accounting software (e.g. Xero, QuickBooks, MYOB, Sage, or similar ERP systems) will be an advantage.
Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
Meticulous, organised, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Good analytical, problem-solving, and time management skills.
Possess a positive attitude, willingness to learn, and the ability to meet deadlines.
Good interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team.
High level of integrity and commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
