Job Description - Finance Executive (AWS/ Orchard)

Job Summary 

The Finance Executive is responsible for supporting the hotel’s financial operations with a focus on accounts receivable, income audit, billing accuracy, OTA (Online Travel Agent) commission reconciliation, and daily revenue verification. The role ensures financial transactions, reconciliations, and reporting are completed accurately and in a timely manner to support operational efficiency, compliance, and financial integrity. The position also contributes to informed business decision-making by providing accurate financial information, reconciliation support, and operational reporting to stakeholders. 

Areas of Focus 

This role focuses on accounts receivable management, income audit functions, OTA reconciliation, revenue verification, credit card settlements, voucher tracking, and financial reporting support. It ensures accurate recording and reconciliation of hotel revenue while supporting compliance, audit readiness, and operational finance processes. 

Strategic Responsibilities / Duties 

  1. Prepare and issue invoices, debit notes, and credit notes accurately and within required timelines.  

  2. Follow up on outstanding payments and maintain proper collection and reconciliation records.  

  3. Reconcile guest, corporate, and travel agent accounts to ensure accuracy of receivables.  

  4. Monitor ageing reports and highlight overdue balances or collection risks to management.  

  5. Perform credit card reconciliations by verifying daily settlements against PMS and POS postings.  

  6. Investigate and follow up on discrepancies relating to credit card settlements and unresolved variances.  

  7. Support month-end closing activities and accounts receivable reporting requirements.  

  8. Liaise with internal departments and external parties on billing, payment, and reconciliation matters.  

  9. Verify daily revenue postings from Front Office, Food & Beverage, and other operating departments.  

  10. Review room revenue, package postings, rebates, allowances, discounts, paid outs, and adjustments for accuracy and compliance.  

  11. Reconcile OTA bookings, commissions, and payment records against hotel systems and supporting reports.  

  12. Verify OTA commission deductions and ensure proper recording and supporting documentation.  

  13. Investigate discrepancies relating to OTA commissions, room revenue, settlements, and booking records.  

  14. Monitor voucher issuance, redemption, expiry, and outstanding balances, ensuring proper documentation and follow-up. 

  15. Prepare daily revenue and income audit reports for management review.  

  16. Ensure supporting documents are complete, properly authorised, and maintained for audit purposes.  

  17. Conduct cash counts for Front Office emergency float and General Cashier float, ensuring balances are accurate and discrepancies are escalated promptly.  

  18. Support filing, documentation, and internal audit requirements within the Finance Department.  

  19. Assist with ad hoc finance assignments and operational support where required. 

  20. Perform other duties as assigned by the direct reporting manager. 

Key Skills and Requirements 

  1. ITE, Diploma, or equivalent qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.  

  2. Candidate without experience welcome to apply; prior experience in hotel or hospitality finance is advantageous.  

  3. Knowledge of hotel systems including PMS, POS, OTA platforms, and accounting systems is preferred.  

  4. Understanding of accounts receivable, billing, reconciliation, income audit, OTA commissions, and revenue verification processes.  

  5. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is mandatory.  

  6. Strong attention to detail, organisational skills, and ability to meet reporting deadlines.  

  7. Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work across departments.  

  8. High level of integrity, analytical capability, and ability to work independently in a fast-paced hotel environment.
