Finance Manager, Freight | Singapore

Job Responsibilities

• Lead the finance function for the Freight business, ensuring accurate and timely financial accounting and management reporting.
• Drive the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing process, working closely with the Global Business Services (GBS) team.
• Prepare and review management reports, budgets, forecasts, and financial analysis to support business performance.
• Review P&L and balance sheet transactions to ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal policies.
• Support statutory audits, AIS audits, and the preparation of financial statements.
• Partner closely with business stakeholders to provide financial insights and support operational decision-making.
• Administer SAP and ensure the smooth execution of finance processes and month-end close activities.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance financial reporting and operational efficiency.
• Coordinate with external authorities, including the Maritime Port Authority and Department of Statistics, on regulatory reporting and survey submissions.

Requirements

• Minimum 6 years of relevant finance experience, preferably within dry bulk shipping, freight trading, or a major commodity trading company.
• Strong experience in financial reporting, management reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and month-end close.
• Good understanding of Singapore Financial Reporting Standards (I-SFRS), GST, and corporate taxation.
• Hands-on experience with SAP;
• CPA, ACCA, or an equivalent professional accounting qualification.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, commercial environment while managing multiple priorities.
